Completion requirement

Sequence requirements include organization and presentation of student’s artwork in a solo exhibition including a public artist talk, an exit portfolio with a written supportive statement, and approval of faculty mentors.

Complete 6 credit hours from the following studio arts disciplines (ceramics, expanded media, metalwork and jewelry design, glass, sculpture, wood/metal)
Complete 6 credit hours from the following studio arts disciplines (drawing, intaglio, lithography, painting, photography, video)
Complete 1 additional 200-level, pre-20th century Art History elective
Complete 1 additional 300-level Art History seminar elective
Complete 3 credit hours of Art or Art History electives (consult with a faculty member to determine an appropriate elective)
Complete 33 additional credit hours in a specialization in any discipline area (a specialization that combines must be approved by faculty mentors and the B.F.A. Committee of the School of Art)

Studio coursework must include at least 12 credit hours at the 200-level and 6 credit hours at the 300-level. Please consult with your academic advisor. ART 201, ART 211, ART 307, ART 309 do not count toward the Studio Arts Sequence. Multiple enrollments are allowed in 300-level courses within the various Discipline Areas.
