College of Arts and Sciences World Languages Graduation Requirement
All graduates of the College of Arts and Sciences must satisfy a world language graduation requirement that may be met in one of the following ways:
Completion of Level III proficiency of one world language in high school or successful completion of the second semester or higher of college-level world language with a passing grade or equivalent proficiency as determined by examination or State Seal of Biliteracy.
Students who have successfully completed one semester of college world language credit may elect to satisfy this requirement by studying abroad in an approved program in a country whose main language is the same as the one studied in college
American Sign Language may be used to fulfill this requirement by transfer credit or by proficiency.
International students from a country where English is not the primary language and whose first language is not English will have this requirement waived.
